on Consultancy Work
(HR Meeting Advocacy):
"In the HR meeting, Wesleigh-Jane's support meant a lot. Her calm demeanour and reassuring presence immediately helped ease my nerves and had a significant impact on how the meeting went. She listened attentively, offered thoughtful input when needed, and made it clear that she was there to advocate for me. Knowing I wasn't alone in that setting gave me a sense of confidence, comfort, and reassurance. Here presence not only made the conversation more manageable but also reminded me that I had someone in my corner, which made all the difference"
on Strategy Circles:
"Honestly, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Being in a space where those things were actually named out loud: microaggressions, the pressure to overperform, constantly being “the only one” in the room. It made me feel seen. I didn’t have to shrink myself or second-guess my experiences. It’s wild how much we normalize that kind of stress just to survive in certain spaces. So to unpack it openly? That was powerful. It reminded me I’m not crazy, I’m not alone and my feelings are valid. More spaces need to exist like that, where we can show up as our full selves without carrying the weight in silence..."
on Strategy Circles:
"Was needed and insightful. There are very few spaces that offer this sort of vulnerability and exposure to discuss issues and problems in the corporate world that we work in."
This section shares some anonymised stories from women we’ve supported through difficult workplace crossroads. These are the kinds of challenges most people feel uncomfortable to talk about publicly, but they’re exactly what our consultancy services were built for.
CASE 1
One client came to Sisters Protect after receiving a deeply disappointing outcome in their first year in a regulated frontline role.
They felt misrepresented by the paperwork, unsupported by their supervision, and unsure whether to challenge the process, start again, or leave the profession entirely. Immediately from speaking to them I was able to decipher the tactics their employer was using in the guise of "support". It had been almost 12 months, and my client was not aware of these tactics being used to push them out. Since time was not on our hands, we got to the crux of it.
Together, we:
Broke down the power dynamics at hand and understood who held what authority and the extent their authority could affect their career in X profession
Reviewed internal documentation and identified gaps in narrative
Explored all viable next steps including if it went their way or if it did not, and the risks
Drafted a short but effective professional response that communicated clarity, not panic
Discussed the advantages of signing up to a trade union as an employee
Built a plan for recovery, emotionally and professionally
This was a turning point to a pinnacle of multiple performance reviews, and my client didn’t need to go through it alone, so I supported them with strategy and check ins.
CASE 2
A client approached Sisters Protect while navigating a pivotal moment in their business journey. They was running a successful creative venture but had outgrown its original structure and needed clarity around what came next.
Together, we worked through:
Business restructuring decisions including how to reposition their offer without abandoning what was already successfully built
Strategic evaluation of new business ideas, balancing vision with capacity
Location sourcing strategy, supporting their decision to expand into a new space and helping them evaluate risk vs. opportunity, calculate profit margins, and other business related costs
Visual and strategic presentation materials - bringing their ideas to life in a clean, confident format she could share with stakeholders
This project was about identity, scale, and sustainability. We held space for both clarity and emotion, and ensured every decision was theirs to own, not rush.
CASE 3
My client reached out during a high-stakes legal process involving multiple professionals, sensitive documentation, and emotionally charged decision-making. They needed clarity, protection, strategy, and a review of documentation.
Together we:
Worked through their draft communications, focusing on tone, clarity, and alignment with their intentions
Practised how to express key points under pressure, so they could speak with confidence and stay centred
Explored boundaries when engaging with the counterparty including when to pause, when to seek clarification, how to reinforce their ideal outcome and how to protect their peace
Helped them plan emotionally and practically for what came next, so they wasn’t navigating the process alone or in reaction mode
As two Black women navigating this together, we were able to reflect on the cultural dynamics at play - including those that often go unnamed in formal settings. That shared understanding made space for strategy that felt not just informed, but deeply personal. We were able to engage with the counterparty from a point of mutual understanding — and my client received a large award.
CASE 4
A returning client reconnected with Sisters Protect for guidance while navigating a renewed phase of a complex legal process. Although a previous outcome had been secured, challenges remained around its enforcement.
Together, we worked through:
Strategic reflection on how best to communicate with court services and legal representatives in line with their evolving needs
Drafting a timeline of events and what was owed.
CASE 5
A client self-representing in a tribunal process after experiencing sexual harassment approached Sisters Protect for strategic and emotional support. They needed a second pair of eyes.
Together, we worked through:
Structuring their written submissions and supporting materials in a way that was clear, measured, and aligned with the required tone
Distinguishing which parts of their experience to highlight without retraumatising themselves in the process
Building language that reflected their professionalism and personal truth, without tipping into over-explaining or defensiveness
Wrote a list of key deadlines to remember
Rehearsing difficult conversations and potential challenges, so they could feel anchored in clarity and intention
CASE 6
A client navigating a change in their health circumstances reached out to Sisters Protect for support in requesting workplace adjustments.
Together, we worked through:
Structuring a clear and confident email to escalate their needs to Human Resources
Identifying language that reflected both professionalism and urgency
Particularised why they needed reasonable adjustments
Strategically including a request for an Occupational Health referral and outlining why it would be helpful
Encouraging the client to seek a supporting letter from their GP to strengthen their case
Talking through how to pace the process and what to expect next and signposted them to ACAS
Through our consultancy services, we can help you with:
Preparing for difficult HR or Occupational Health meetings
Writing or structuring a formal grievance, without doing it alone
Gathering evidence and documenting issues in a way that is clear and within corporate tonality
Requesting reasonable adjustments or Access to Work support
Deciding if it is time to completely walk away
Making sense of internal processes like performance reviews or warnings
